Ms. Aarti Angara

Caravel Asset Management

Ms. Aarti Angara is the Deputy CIO of Caravel Asset Management.

Aarti joined the Caravel Group in 2017 as an Investment Director and subsequently became a Portfolio Manager and the Head of Research at Caravel Asset Management (“CAM”).

At CAM, Aarti manages the global equity, credit and third-party alternative investment portfolios, across all sectors. She is responsible for all investment decisions across asset classes. In her role, Aarti manages a team of equity and credit analysts, as well as a team of risk, trading and portfolio management analysts.

Prior to joining Caravel, Aarti was Co-Head of the Special Situations Group, Non-Japan Asia, at Morgan Stanley (“MSSSG”). At MSSSG, Aarti ran a team focused on special situations opportunities across asset classes. Representative investments included non-performing loan portfolios, distressed and stressed credits, private high-yield and mezzanine lending and growth equity. While at MSSSG, Aarti sat on the board of several portfolio companies.

Aarti began her career as an Analyst in Investment Banking in the Mergers and Acquisitions department at Morgan Stanley in New York, where she worked on several large transactions, such as Alcan’s defense against a hostile takeover attempt by Alcoa, the merger of Clear Channel with AMFM, and the sale of Architel Systems to Nortel Networks.

Aarti graduated summa cum laude from Colgate University, with a BA in Mathematics and Economics. She received her MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where she was a recipient of the F. H. Shields Scholarship for academic excellence.
